In expectation of the General Meeting in Amsterdam: From the club seat to the Max Euwe-Centrum in pictures
Starting point Johannes Vermeerstraat; No. 37 – the house of Jurgen Stigter – is known to be the seat of the Ken Whyld Association.
The Rijksmuseum from the rear, only a few minutes to go from the club seat.
Passing the Rijksmuseum (sideways).
René van der Heijden, Bernd Schneider and Jurgen Stigter at the edge of a "stretch of water".
Bernd Schneider and Jurgen Stigter are on the right way (namely to the MEC).
The Hotel Smits, for several members the accommodation of their choice during the meeting in the middle of September.
View from the Hein Donner-Bridge (named after the Dutch GM). It’s not far away from the MEC now.
The Max Euwe-Centrum comes into sight!
Back view of the MEC.
Peter de Jong, Jurgen Stigter and Michael Negele on the otherwise empty Max Euweplein.
The Max Euweplein full of people – chess must be a crowd puller in Holland!
Bernd Schneider, Jurgen Stigter and Peter de Jong posing at the entrance to the MEC. Below you see the nameplate beside the door.
To reach the innermost of the MEC you have to pass several doors, this is the first one ... By means of a lift you may effortlessly move upward to the 1st floor.
The sign in the first floor confirms that (inter alia) the MEC resides here.
Jurgen Stigter and Bernd Schneider arrive at the second door. Both look rather relaxed now.
Behind the third door the way is clear to the "inner sanctum".
