Persons celebrating an Anniversary in August 2010

Our quartet of August is headed by Philip McCready whom I mentioned for the first time in our 2006 column: He celebrated his 55th birthday on August 8th. His activities and chess projects are recorded at his web site (and blog), please visit Our quartet of August is headed by Philip McCready whom I mentioned for the first time in our 2006 column: He celebrated his 55th birthday on August 8th. Collector friend Tom de Gijsel from Amsterdam belongs to our large group of Dutch members, already in 2004 he joined our association: On August 14th he completed four decades of his life.

Only one day later the famous chess arbiter Geurt Gijssen had his special day, he turned 76. You may display a small photo gallery on "GG" at Google: www.google.de/images?...

Our last chess greetings go to the far north of Europe, in Iceland Jón Adólf Pálsson looked back on full 80 years on August 20th. The scarce information I have about him is included in the mention of 2008.

Congratulations!

PS: You will find all previous birthday greetings in our archives!
