Zukertort Plaque Unveiled

Our treasurer Michael Negele was present when at Simpson's-in-the-Strand a plaque in commemoration of Johannes Hermann Zukertort was unveiled. The ceremony took place on August 23rd...
A short note of that event was published by Stewart Reuben on the site of the English Chess Federation (ECF), and our member Gordon Cadden has sent us some pictures which we reproduce below. The speech given by GM Stuart Conquest on this occasion can be found at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/....
There is also a very short part of the speech of CJ [Connagh-Joseph] de Mooi, President of the ECF. You will find more about this flamboyant personality at his Wikipedia page and his own website. (Whereas our member Steve Giddins is not utterly amused about CJ - see his blog entries The Dear Leader speaks! and To stand or not to stand..., you may form your own opinion.)
