As we have just heard, on May 3rd our liberal democratic local politician from Nottingham – Tony Gillam – stood as a candidate twice: he failed as a candidate for Nottingham City Council but in his Ward Gedling (Gedling Borough Council), just 2 kilometres away, he was re-elected - now for the 7th time already, and he could gain two seats on his council (here the local election results online). We would like to congratulate Tony on this fine success – now he is not only able to give up his previous part-time job but he will probably also have some more time again for chess publishing.
Congratulations go to Nottingham!
On this occasion we naturally can’t avoid pointing once more to our London KWA meeting on June 8th to 10th, 2007 – surely Tony Gillam will again join in!
