| It
is known that the Master Tournament was won by Siegbert Tarrasch who for
the fourth time could win the first prize in an international tournament.
After his match win against Steinitz Emanuel Lasker was for a short time in Leipzig where he met Tarrasch, without taking part in the tournament. Frank Große, Leipzig is planning a tournament book on the Leipzig 1894 Congress. All games apart from only a few are available, so he is looking for any help which could be important with regard to the tournament. Particularly the biographical data / lives of the players from the "Hauptturnier" (Main Tournament) listed in Frank's letter are very sought-after. The participants of the "Meisterturnier" (Master Tournament) are listed there as well. The book will give a comprehensive description - as far as possible - of the tournament and the participants; a contemporary view of the days in Leipzig and their protagonists will offer a chess historical reading passage. Additionally to the old comments a top ten grandmaster has been won over to annotate the games again. Below the original letter of Frank Große (in German only): Leipzig
