Bodo
Pawlik, Michael Negele and Ralf Binnewirtz |
Three KWA members attended an interesting lecture
held by John Eidinow on March 10th, 2005 at 7 p.m. in the Goethe Museum,
Schloß Jägerhof in Düsseldorf.
|
The Briton is co-author - together with David Edmonds - of the book
"Bobby Fischer Goes to War" published in 2004 by HarperCollins
Publishers, now brought out in a German edition by DVA under the title
"Wie Bobby Fischer den Kalten Krieg gewann".
Eidinow was with the BBC and for the 7th time he held a lecture at
the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft (German-British
Society). |
Besides the genesis of the book about the match of the century in
Reykjavik 1972 he gave a review on geniuses with bad manners (Ludwig
Wittgenstein and Robert J. Fischer) and on chess in literature. |
|
For Bodo Pawlik, Ralf Binnewirtz and myself it was an enjoyable evening,
my wife was more enthusiastic about the shopping spree and the following
late-night dinner (>> pictures below).
